One of my favorite daily tools for managing stress/anxiety is exercising my mind with affirmations. Affirmations are positive statements that can help you challenge and overcome negative thoughts. Repeating, and truly believing positive affirmations can help you make positive changes. They have helped me reshape my thinking form negative self-talk to speaking love, light, and life into myself. During my highest moments of anxiety, I struggle to find clear and concise thoughts, my head is cloudy with negative judgments of myself and the world around me. I’ve found that reshaping these thoughts with positive affirmations helps me breath better, and overcome moments of high stress quicker then I’ve been able to before. Think of affirmations as the exercise for our mind, the more we repeat and believe in positive affirmations the better chances we have of reprogram our patterns of thinking, and over time we learn to think and act differently. We have the power to do anything in this life. Creating happiness begins with creating positive messages with your heart and mind.
Affirmations can be used to increase our performance in a workplace, improve our self-worth and confidence, improve productivity, and overcome negative habits. My favorite time to practice repeating these affirmations is during my mindfulness exercise when I wake up. I use affirmations to speak positivity into the day ahead me, and continue to do so throughout the day. Before I start my affirmation practice, I like to create a space that is calming, and relaxes me. I either light a candle or just sit with my eyes closed. I began with placing my hand over my heart, or my feet to the ground and take a couple of deep breaths. I ground myself by saying “I am Here”, “I feel Safe in this body”, and I continue with more affirmations throughout my practice. After my morning affirmations I feel more prepared to tackle my day, and accomplish things that I might have on my to-do-list. I feel more powerful, and amped to succeed. Using Affirmations can really transform your life! It is a way to help you feel in control of your day, and also increase your mindfulness and self-awareness.
